Project ABCD was developed in collaboration with Betty Barnes, now Coordinator of SDFS/TUPE at Glendale Unified School District (GUSD). We are very proud to be collaborating with GUSD.
Project ABCD incorporates our AnimAction TUPE Program including a camp for youth where they explore tobacco issues through several special presentations from contracted professionals. Armed with this information, youth then go on to work with multimedia programs. They develop print media, power point presentations and incorporate the magical medium of animation as an outlet of expression to deliver their message.
Youth-produced messages are developed and presented to their peers in school-wide presentations and have been adopted by conferences and screened in youth summits. Glendale Unified School District youth participants in Project ABCD presented to a California State meeting in Los Angeles convened by the Department of Health Services, Tobacco Control Section.
